What is a mindset coach?

Following the understanding that our behaviors are the result of our thoughts and beliefs, a mindset coach helps the client become aware of certain thought patterns that may be keeping them stuck in unhealthy patterns or preventing them from achieving the results they want.   As your coach I help you choose new mindsets that will bring about the changes you desire.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

While there are many differences, the short answer is that coaching is a short-term relationship helping clients achieve certain goals or outcomes in their life.  The client baseline is one of a “healthy mind” vs. someone who may be suffering from mental health issues.  Therapists deal with diagnosis and treatment, whereas coaches will help the client to make changes in mindset, habits, behaviors to achieve desired outcomes.

I’ve never worked with a life coach, how do I know if it’s right for me?

I believe everyone can benefit from a life coach.  The job of the mindset coach is to hold up a mirror to the client’s mind so that the client can begin to gain clarity and find solutions in the areas they most need it.  If you’re unsure about what to expect from a coaching session, send me an email and we can talk.

Isn’t God the one who changes us, why do I need a coach?

While God is the change agent in our lives, we have free will and we must cooperate with the grace he offers us.  Often, God’s grace is not able to be active in our lives because of unhealthy mindsets we’ve adopted over time.  As St. Thomas Aquinas states, “Grace perfects nature..”.   We must learn to become aware of our thoughts and how they impact our habits and behaviors.  As a mindset coach, I help my clients become aware of thoughts that lead to habits or patterns which may be blocking God’s grace.

How often do we meet?

I typically like to meet one time a week for 45 minutes.   We will work together 1:1 during that time and then you have the remainder of the week to work through anything we discussed in our session.   I have a few different offerings depending on your needs and availability that are discussed in greater detail during our initial consultation.

What if I do a consult call but decide it’s not for me?

No problem.  That’s the point of the consult call!  Coaching is only as effective as the client’s desire to put in the work.  If you decide after the consult call it’s not a good fit – no worries.  This is about you and what you need!!
